MusicTree Artists
Present & Past
What is
Artist
Development
Artist development is about establishing exactly where you are on the market spectrum and planning out your next steps. It’s about improving songwriting, nurturing your style, discovering what makes you unique, and shaping production around who that is.
It’s about building your brand, networking in the industry, promoting your music, and marketing you. It’s about finding your audience, building your fan base, connecting you with people through social media, and live performances. It’s about your songs, your voice, and your career.
Our Approach

Why do we create music?
"The beginning of any piece of music is an idea.
You want to communicate something.
Share and experience.
Learning from each other's mistakes.
We can understand that other peole go through what we go through."
Dan Wilson (Grammy writer)
"A dream written with a date becomes a goal.
A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan.
A plan backed by action
makes dreams come true."
Greg Reid (from Ari Herstand's 'New Music Business')
"We play a game with no rules.
Just because it worked one way for someone, doesn't mean it's going to work that way for you."
Amy Madrigali (Talent Buyer - The Troubadour)
"So many people get record deals in Nashville and they don't ever get an album."
Luke Bryan
"We've set up a system where talented people who have so much to offer have no way to survive in this industry."
Emily Warren (songwriter - Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers, Shakira)
Over 98% of all acts who sign to a major label fail.
"There's music and then there's the music business." Ryan Press - vice president of A&R Warner/Chappell Music
